Curriculum Enrichment |
At St Augustine's, we aim to provide our pupils with a curriculum which is relevant and engaging. Essential to this is our approach to curriculum enrichment. We strive to create opportunities for pupils to regularly learn outside the classroom and to work with artists and other individuals and organisations who offer a different approach to learning.
Details of some of our enrichment activities are listed below.
Are We Nearly There Yet?
Classes 4 and 5 presented this year's christmas production: Are We Nearly There Yet? Using funky songs, we retold the Christmas story for parents/carers and family members.

Class 6 adopted an actor!
Paul Westfield, an actor in the Library Theatre's production of Great Expectations has been writing to class 6. In literacy, the children have been writing back, and have learnt lots about the story of the play, as well as finding out what it is like to be an actor. Class 6 went to see Paul performing, and Clement even got the chance to act on stage with him.

All Shook Up!
This year we have been starting the school day with "Wake Up! Shake Up!" At 8.50 every morning the staff, pupils and parents/carers join in with our routine! Soem of the older children support the younger children as 'Dance Leaders' too.

Anti-Bullying Week 2008!
This year, our theme was "See Something, Say Something!"
Pupils wrote their own personal pledge to help stop bullying. We tied the pledge cards to balloons, and on Thursday, we released them. I wonder how far the balloons will travel?

School Council Election Day!
Here are some pictures of our recent election for the school council. It was a good opportunity to learn about democratic voting, and how elections are carried out.
